David Gough
David Gough is a specialist in building businesses
in the emerging biomedical sector having played a major role in
the foundation of at least ten companies. He has enjoyed a successful
and broadly based career spanning over thirty years as a manager,
consultant, entrepreneur and investor during which time he has raised
or helped raise close to £100m. As well as general management
roles with four companies including Avlar BioVentures, a specialist
biotechnology seed investor and Vectura Ltd a drug delivery company,
he has held board level positions in marketing, business development,
finance and operations. In 1996 he founded First Instar Limited
a consulting firm specialising in mentoring, strategic management
and finance for the life sciences and biomedical industries. David
is also a non–executive director of Adjuvantix Limited, Pro-Cure
Therapeutics Limited and CTM Biotech Limited and is an advisor to
Babraham Bioscience Technologies, Quester Capital Management and
ETCapital Limited. He has extensive mentoring experience involving
companies from many of the country’s leading Universities
and is a contributor to the University of Cambridge, Centre for
Entrepreneurial Learning annual summer school.

Olga Kusmartseva MSc
Olga is a research associate in the photonics and
health technology group at Loughborough University. She received
her university education in Russia at Moscow Institute for Physics
and Technology (M Ph T I, Dolgoprudni, Moscow District) and achieved
a Master of Science degree in Physics and Electronic Engineering
(1981). Through her career she worked in the Research Institute
of Russian Academy of Science, University of Cologne (Germany),
University of Oulu (Finland). She has an international track record
of successful research in optics, solid state physics and thin film
technologies. For the past five years she has been developing methods
for particle characterisation in a dynamic cloud. |
